Historical objections

What are historical objections?

Historical objections are objections to the Bible's historical accuracy, or its development.

An overview of why they don't work.

Because of the diverse array of historical objections, it would be rather difficult to explain why all of them fail in one or two paragraphs. In short, however, history is the academic field in which the Bible most thrives. It is such a reliable historical document that many historians actually use it as a reference. The so-called argument from minimal facts is a historical argument that very strongly indicates the fact of the resurrection. Prophecy, likewise, has been fulfilled time and time again, forcing some sceptics to claim that certain prophecies were written after their fulfilment. The Bible is the only Holy book with a 0% fail rate.

Generally speaking, the more complete our historical knowledge is, the more we can see that the Bible is correct. Attempts to re-arrange the authorship dates, or claim corruption has occurred, tend to disappear at the simplest of discoveries. Likewise, attempts to claim prophecy failed, or the historical details of the Bible are wrong, tend to rely on either the absence of evidence, or on more unreliable history. Even, in some cases, pseudo-history. The greatest example of pseudo-history, that being Evolution, will not be addressed directly in this section.
