Reaching Mormons

What is Mormonism?

Mormonism is a pseudo-Christian denomination predicated on a mythical event called the "Great Apostasy", wherein, shortly after the Apostles died, true Christianity perished from the Earth, God then called Joseph Smith, the first Mormon prophet, to restore it. Naturally, Mormons believe theirs is the one true Church. Mormons do claim to believe the Bible "as far as it is translated correctly", and also have three other books they call scripture: Pearl of Great Price, Doctrines and Covenants, and, of course, the Book of Mormon. Joseph Smith described the Book of Mormon like this: "I told the brethren that the Book of Mormon was the most correct of any book on earth, and the keystone of our religion, and a man would get nearer to God by abiding by its precepts, than by any other book."
