In House Issues

What are in house issues?

Ideally, Christians should be completely united in all things. Every doctrine, every moral, every thought, should be identical in every church and believer. However, as we are weak in the flesh, disagreements are inevitable. Various things, including a lack of study, a specific upbringing, fear, or even sin, will cause disagreements between Christians. These things can often be divisive, but they should not be. While the ideal is to reach agreement, sometimes it is necessary to simply "agree to disagree", while maintaining peaceful fellowship with one another, and certainly not questioning each other's salvation on the basis of a non-essential issue. That doesn't mean all opinions on a given issue are equally valid, of course. It simply means even taking the wrong position isn't enough to necessitate disfellowship.

Church division and unity

I, therefore, the prisoner of the Lord, beseech you to walk worthy of the calling with which you were called, with all lowliness and gentleness, with longsuffering, bearing with one another in love, endeavoring to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace. - Ephesians 4:1-3 KJV
