The simple requirement of salvation

Writer's picture: Bible BrianBible Brian

Whereas modern versions of "Christianity" have added all sorts of weird criteria to salvation, the Bible solves this unequivocally. You do not have to get baptised, you do not have to go to church, you do not need any made up sacraments, you definitely don't need to speak in tongues. All you have to do is believe on the Lord Jesus Christ.

The Bible is rather explicit about this. Of course, salvation will naturally lead to good works. If you're really saved, why wouldn't you get baptised? If you truly believe in Jesus, why wouldn't you go to church? Such things, while they are not required for salvation, are evidence of salvation. You can be saved without them, but the question is, if you're saved, will you be without them? The saved will act saved, the unsaved will act unsaved. If it looks like a duck, and quacks like a duck, the chances are it's a duck. But these things are a RESULT of salvation, not a CAUSE of salvation. Anyone preaching extra requirements for salvation is preaching a false gospel.
