You will answer God as Job answered God: "I am vile..."

It's always interesting to see how people imagine they would talk to God when they meet Him. Some people, in their pride, believe they will be accepted by Him, and they will talk to Him as a chief advisor would talk to his king. Others are so full of pride, they believe they will actually lecture Him. Job? He believed he would argue his case with God (Job 13:3).

But eventually, he got that very chance. The Lord appeared to Him in a whirlwind, and began to explain to Job exactly who He was, and why there was nothing Job could possibly say to God. And Job, having seen God, even in diminished form (not even Job saw God's full glory) ultimately came to realise this.

However you imagine your own encounter with God will be, expect to be humbled. As sinners, we should have only one thing in mind: Mercy. We should be beyond distraught at our own sin. We are vile, as Job was. We are not worthy to stand in His presence. But praise be to God, while we are not worthy to stand before God, God will make us stand. Through Christ, the wrath that was owed has already been paid. We have no way to answer God, but Jesus, when He was tried, likewise did not give answer. He was silent, as a lamb lead to slaughter. Only through Jesus can we dare say a word to our Lord, and it will not be a word of boasting, nor of correction. Rather, we will either beg for undeserved mercy, or praise Him, because beyond all imagination, He gave it.
