"Change over time" accommodates Creationism

The equivocation fallacy is an Evolutionist's best friend. By keeping Evolution as ambiguous as possible, it becomes very difficult to falsify it. In recent years, it has become particularly popular to define Evolution as simply "change over time".

Anyone should be able to see how ambiguous this is, but to really drive the point home, consider the fact that change over time is not only 100% compatible with the Genesis creation account, but actually 100% necessary for it. If there were just two men on the earth that did not perfectly resemble each other, then in order for Genesis to be true, change must occur over time. Why? Because if just two men are slightly different, we know at least one of them is not perfectly identical to Adam, and thus, mankind alone must have changed over time.

Now, if Evolution is just "change over time", and the Bible necessarily requires change over time, why is Evolution in conflict with Creation? Simple: Because even Evolutionists admit, at least when it suits them, that Evolution is actually a certain type of change, over a certain amount of time. Evolution is the type of change that turns one kind of organism into another, over an amount of time that is actually unrealistic to observe.

The ambiguity is helpful for Evolutionists because we do see change over time. In fact, Creationists like Edward Blyth wrote on the topic before Darwin. Darwin is even known to have plagiarised Blyth's work on the topic! Thus, by saying Evolution is just "change over time", Evolutionists can simultaneously give the impression that they have defended their view, and that Creationists, somehow, reject change over time. The equivocation backs the straw man!

In reality, Evolution should not get a free ride on the back of speciation. Evolutionists love to point to small changes, such as cave fish losing their eyes, as examples of "Evolution", but in reality, what happened there is you began with a fish, and you ended with a fish. But Evolution posits that all life is descended from a single celled organism that once magically created itself in a murky pool. You're not just related to your fellow man, but to monkeys, moles, mayflies, mangoes, and every other living organism, whether it begins with m or not.

By all rights, Evolutionists should have an uphill battle with this. But this uphill battle is made easier by the ski lift that is speciation. Let's cut the power by asking one simple question: How does a finch with a big beak being related to a finch with a small beak, in any way, translate to that same finch being related to a 10 tonne tyrannosaur?

The answer is simple. Anyone with a basic grasp of reality knows that birds produce birds, and dinosaurs produce(d) dinosaurs. Therefore, birds being related to birds has nothing to do with birds being related to dinosaurs. They're fundamentally different creatures.

And this is the problem Evolution has. They will never be able to demonstrate Evolution, as it happened in their imaginations, because aside from the fact there just isn't enough time, it just can't happen. Even the differences between related organisms are caused by the same genome. The fruit fly genome contains the information for flies, not orangutans. The peppered moth genome contains the information for moths, not elephants. The humpback whale genome contains the information for whales, not kangaroos. There is room for variety, but each successive generation will be fundamentally the same as its predecessors, because living organisms were designed to reproduce their own kind, not others.

The reliance Evolutionists have on equivocation should tell you everything you need to know about their confidence in their religion. If Evolution was true, and especially if it was as indisputable as they claim, it shouldn't require this kind of foul play. They should be able to admit what Evolution is, and show how we know it's real. In reality, Evolution is false, and it could never be shown to be true.

By contrast, Christians have no reason to hide our faith. I am a Biblical Creationist, which means I believe the historical account of origins found in the book of Genesis. It also means I believe the Creator is the Lord Jesus Christ, who beyond all imagination actually entered the world as a man, living a perfect life. In the end, He was crucified, receiving in Himself the full penalty for the sins of the human race. He then rose again, not only proving His claims, but ultimately making a way for everyone, even Evolutionists, to repent of their sin, and be saved by confessing Him as Lord, and believing in His resurrection. No equivocation, no straw men, just cold, hard facts.
