Christ and dog treats

I wonder if you've seen that video of the dog given the choice between two hands? In one hand is a treat, and the dog chooses that hand and gets the treat. The owner then reveals that the other hand was full of several treats, and the dog no longer looks very happy. It got one treat, but it could have had several. While it's amusing (and kind of sad) to watch, it has a lesson to teach: value is relative. That which appears to be valuable on its own appears less so when compared to something of greater value. Sometimes, a bird in the hand is not worth two in the bush.

This is most certainly the case with Christ. He is far more valuable than anything we could ever hope to gain, to the point where if we have literally the entire world, it isn't worth it compared to Him. If you have to choose between Christ and anything on earth, always choose Christ, because choosing the other thing is worse than the dog choosing the single treat over the multitude.
