Collective guilt is anti-Christian

With the just judge of the universe, there is no such thing as collective guilt. Many in our modern culture are quick to blame white males for the horrors of the slave trade. In return, many are quick to assume all black people are anti-white racists. After 9/11, there were a significant number of people who automatically blame all Muslims. None of this is Biblical.

If you are white, you are guilty for your sins, and your sins only. The sins of your ancestors are not your fault, the sins of your descendants, save where you have directly taught them (i.e. you are actively participating in, or causing, their sin), are not your fault. Only your sins will be taken into account when you are judged. If you've never been racist, it doesn't matter if your ancestors were. If, as is the case with the majority of white people today, you never owned a slave, you're not guilty of slavery.

If you're black, but have never committed any of the atrocities attributed to Black Lives Matter or The Black Panthers, you are not guilty. Got a family member in BLM? A cousin? A father? A son? You're not guilty.

If you're a Muslim, you probably weren't involved in 9/11. You bear no guilt for that. Even if Osama Bin Laden himself is related to you by blood, you're not accountable for his actions.

In April 2016, I was attacked by a young man seeking to steal my camera. His mother appears to live close to me, and my mother knows one of her friends. They are not responsible for his actions. When the police arrested him, they only arrested him. They didn't arrest a single family member, or anyone he was with. He alone is guilty for his actions.

The sectarian attitude of the modern world is little different from the attitude of ancient Israel. We even have our own version of the eating sour grapes proverb: "the apple never rots far from the tree". And yet, to everyone who says something so stupid, God says stop it. Judge the individual, not the family, not the ethnic group, only the individual.
