Dear Church: WAKE UP!

How to create an atheist in three easy steps:

1. Tell them the Bible is true.

2. Tell them a bunch of things contrary to the Bible, and say those are true.

3. Let them read the Bible.

As the Church becomes more worldly, this happens more and more often. The culture is winning the war simply because the Church has stopped fighting, and has instead capitulated in areas we need not capitulate. Many Christians have turned the Bible into an ink blot test. Rather than using it to inform their worldview, they have used it to reflect it.

There was a time when the Church had two very clear words for heretics: "Get out." Now, it seems the Church consists of many of these heretics. Everything but God's word is now tolerated. But while the Church has been entertaining the goats, the wolves have crept in and are tearing the sheep to shreds. Sound doctrine? Where is it? Even what is it? We have gone from "thus saith the Lord" to "thus saith the culture", "thus saith the government", "thus saith the media", "thus saith the academics", well do you know what the culture, government, media, and academics actually say? "We will ascend above the heights of the clouds, we will be like the Most High."

For 6,000 years, this has been the devil's trick. First, "did God really say?" Did God really say He created in 6 days? Did God really say He created us male and female? Did God really say marriage is between a man and his wife? Did God really say perfection is required for Heaven, and that only blood can atone for sin? Did God really say no man comes to the Father but through the Son?

Then he steps it up. God was lying. He was merely withholding from you what is rightfully yours. "You will not surely die, you shall be like God." And then the killing blow. He doesn't have to say another word. He just needs to step back and let you see the allure of temptation. And see it we will, for our hearts are deceptive above all things, and desperately wicked.

There is one solution. When Eve was tempted, she listened without stopping, and Adam, though not deceived, was complicit by not correcting her, but joining her. But Jesus was tempted, and He had the greatest defence: The word of God. Satan couldn't pull his usual rubbish on Jesus, because Jesus knew exactly what the Lord said. When Satan said "it is written", Jesus came back with "it is written also". Use that tactic! When Satan lies, combat him with the truth! You're not smart enough to fight him alone, but God hasn't left you alone.

So who will you be like? The first Adam, who allowed Eve to just walk right up to that tree and take the fruit? Or the last Adam, who fought half truths with the truth? WAKE UP CHURCH! The answer is obvious! When we are like the first Adam, we lose. When we are like the last Adam, we win. We will never win souls by allowing them to be damned. Stop the compromise, start the war. Stand firm on the word of God and let nothing pull you off it!
