In the modern day, many Christians claim that Christianity and Evolution are not incompatible. The problem, of course, is Genesis. Genesis, and every reference to it in the rest of the Bible, all oppose Evolution. Not explicitly, of course. The Bible doesn't say "Evolution is a lie", since Evolution hadn't been invented yet. But scripture does describe the creation of the world. Specifically, it says "For in six days the Lord made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day: wherefore the Lord blessed the sabbath day, and hallowed it.". (Exodus 20:11). 6 days and 20billion years are obviously quite different, which has lead many Christians to ask "does a day really mean a day?"
This reminds me very much of Satan's first active assault on humanity: the temptation of Eve. The first step of his plan was to ask Eve if God really said she was forbidden to eat the fruit of the trees. The end result? 6,000 years of death and suffering. Satan's favourite trick is twisting the scriptures. In Matthew 4, he was even stupid enough to think he could fool Jesus, though this time he said "it is written", rather than "did God really say?" The point being this: the most important thing to remember about Satan is that he is a much better Bible scholar than you. You can spend your whole life, maybe even up to 120 years of age, studying the Bible, Satan will have spent nearly 2,000 years more. He was even there when it was first written. He can read and hear it in every language, and he can twist it to say whatever he likes. The one defence against this incredible threat is the very thing that makes it so threatening: the word of God!
Just as you can go every day of your life studying the word, you can go just as long ignoring it. The spaces God cleared for His words are big enough for man's words, too. Don't let Satan feed you forbidden fruit. Test everything, hold on to that which is good (1 Thessalonians 5:21). Use Jesus' tactic in Matthew 4:10: away with you, Satan, for it is written, "you shall worship the Lord your God, and Him only shall you serve."
