Evolution is a historical myth, not a scientific fact

Can you name one piece of technology that could only have been developed starting with a belief in molecules-to-man Evolution? This is a question Ken Ham asked Bill Nye during the famous debate in 2014. To this day, the answer is no. Evolutionists cannot provide any piece of technology, or indeed any other scientific innovation, that could only have been developed starting with Evolution. This is because despite claims that "Evolution is the backbone of biology", the origins debate has almost nothing to do with science.

Consider planes. Science can tell us a lot about planes, from how they take off to how they fly to how they land. For example, any scientist (and it doesn't really take a scientist) can tell you that as a plane flies, air passes over its wings and is pushed down, creating a force called lift. You do not have to know anything about where the plane came from to know how it flies.

But what if you do want to know where the plane came from? Science can't tell you that. In order to correctly discover that the Wright Brothers invented the first plane, which they successfully flew four times on December 17th in 1903, you need to look at a history book.

In the same way, science can tell us a lot about birds, including how they fly, and even how old birds make new birds. But it cannot tell us where birds came from. In both Christianity and Evolution, birds preceded humanity by at least one day. Therefore, for all of human history, birds have only been observed to come from eggs laid by pre-existing birds. This explains the origin of birds today, it doesn't tell us where the first birds came from.

Just as it is perfectly reasonable to say humans make planes, and indeed is unbelievably unreasonable to claim planes evolved, there is nothing unreasonable about the idea that God made birds to be birds in the beginning. But just as the only way we know about the origin of planes is to look at history, so also is the only way to know about the origin of birds to look at history.

The Bible, of course, tells us that birds were created on day 5 by God. That's a claim about history. If it happened, it happened once, it will never happen again. Evolution has a plethora of silly stories about where birds came from, which, if any of them happened, happened only once. We didn't see it, we can't repeat it, we can't even talk to someone else who saw it. Thus, the origins debate is not a matter of science, but of history.

Another thing that is a matter of history is the resurrection. Unlike Evolution, the permanent nature of death genuinely is a scientific fact. People can't generally come back from the dead. Jesus Christ, the Son of God, is a notable exception. He demonstrated His identity through numerous miracles, which included bringing many dead people to life. Including, as it happens, Himself. After suffering the most brutal form of torture and execution humanity has ever invented, Jesus got up from His tomb and walked right out, leaving only two signs of ever having been killed: The holes where the nails were, and the stab wound where the Romans thrust a spear through His side to test if He was really dead. (He was, so Swoon Theory is medically obsolete).

If Jesus really did rise from the dead, Evolution is obsolete. There is no point debating the origins of the heavens and the earth when the Creator Himself literally shows up and lays down His law. But the resurrection is about far more than just proving His identity. Rather, His death and resurrection are the very method by which we, who have rebelled against our Creator (even to the point of vehemently disagreeing with Him on how He created) can be reconciled to Him. In dying a sinner's death, Jesus took the full wrath of God owed to us. Through confessing that He is Lord, and believing in our hearts that God raised Him from the dead, we shall be saved.
