Have you ever noticed that Evolutionary apologetics is basically one massive fallacy? Let's look at some examples:
1. Appeal to authority (argumentum ad verecundium). - This/these scientist/s believe Evolution (see also meme above).
2. Appeal to populas (argumentum ad populum) - 99% of scientists believe it. (See also meme above).
3. No True Scotsman fallacy (a.k.a. appeal to purity) - This/these scientist/s are not credible because s/he/they are Creationists/work for a Creationist organisation.
4. Equivocation - Evolution is just "change over time", or "descent with modification".
5. Straw man - Creationists believe in the fixity of species.
6. Ad hominem - Creationists are stupid, ignorant, liars for Jesus, have no credentials, didn't pay attention in high school etc.
7. Reification - Science says Evolution is true.
8. Elephant hurling - We have evidence from >insert a plethora of scientific fields here<
9. Slippery slope fallacy - If we reject Evolution, the world will become scientifically illiterate.
10. Tu qoque fallacy - Evolution is riddled with fakes, but Creationism has one or two of those as well.
I could go on, but I think I've made my point. Now, I'm not going to say that because the general case for Evolution is fallacious, therefore Evolution is false. In fact, that is a fallacy called the fallacy fallacy. But it really makes you wonder why, if Evolution really is so above reproach, it must be defended with fallacies that could be spotted by a teenager? I have to say, I feel far more comfortable as a Christian than I ever felt as an Evolutionist. I'd rather fight a lion with a stick than a Creationist with a fallacy.
By far the greatest argument for Creationism is the fact that the Creator Himself entered history as the man, Jesus Christ. Through His resurrection (on top of the numerous other times He demonstrated His power over nature by performing numerous miracles), Jesus proved beyond all reasonable doubt that He really is the Lord God of Israel, who created and maintains the heavens and the earth.
But His resurrection wasn't just designed to prove His identity. There was a reason He came, there's a reason He died, and there's a reason He rose again. When He came, He came as a man, allowing Him to represent you before God. When He died, He received the punishment you deserve for every time you have rebelled against God. When He rose again, He bought eternal life for you. All of this is a gift. But like any gift, it must be received. Cheques must be cashed, boxes must be unwrapped, you will not even receive the benefits of a glass of water if you do not drink it. And so, in order to reap the harvest Jesus sowed for you, you must confess Him as Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead. Then, and only then, can you be saved.
