"I am not a toy, I was made for soups, salads, maybe chili, and then the trash."
- Forky, Toy Story 4
Forky's existential crisis in Toy Story 4 is an excellent demonstration of a creator's right over their creation. Bonnie, Forky's creator, created Forky as a toy, but Forky believes he is a disposable food utensil.
As our Creator, God has the right to dictate who we are. Male or female, dark or light, short or tall, even our disabilities, or lack thereof, are down to God's will. It is of vital importance that we conform to the identity He has set for us.
To illustrate how important, go to Jeremiah 18:1-11. Here, Jeremiah is brought to a potter. The clay would not conform to the shape he intended it to, and so he made another shape instead. With this in mind, God warns Israel "O house of Israel, can I not do with you as this potter? Look, as the clay is in the potter’s hand, so are you in My hand, O house of Israel!"
If you reject God's will for your life, He can still find a use for you. If He intends you to be an ornament, yet you refuse, He can make you a plate. If He intends to make a coffee mug, but you refuse, He can make you a cereal bowl. If you refuse to become a vase, He can mould you into a flower pot. If you will not conform to God's will, God can conform you to another purpose. As Kent Hovind once said, "the worst of you can serve as bad examples."
But do you really want to serve as a bad example? Don't go there. Whatever the Lord has designed you to do, do that. "But I don't even know what He's designing me to do". Ok, well what do you do? Are you a student? Study. Are you married? Love your spouse. Do you have children? Raise them for God. Honour your parents. We all have the charge to deliver the Gospel. Do that when you can, how you can. You may not know your future, but your present is readily available. Serve God now, and let Him worry about the future. As long as you obey Him, He will not fail to make you what He wants you to be.
