Fulfilling a famous prayer

One of the biggest struggles with the Lord's prayer is that, being an effectively scripted prayer, we don't tend to think of what the words actually mean when we pray it. Take, for example, "Your Kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as it is in Heaven". Obviously, "your Kingdom come" is a reference to the Lord finally returning and putting an end to sin once and for all. But what about "your will be done on earth as it is in Heaven"?
In Heaven, everything goes exactly as God wants it. There is no sin, there is no chaos, there is no imperfection. On Earth, not so much. So, clearly, God's will is actually not done on earth as it is in Heaven. Rather, just like "let your Kingdom come", we are expressing a desire. But as with all desires, it takes more than just prayer. James tells us that faith without works is dead. It's no good to merely pray for God to feed the hungry, you feed the hungry. It's no good praying for God to clothe the naked, you clothe the naked. If we're going to pray for God's will to be done on earth as it is in Heaven, that starts with us. Let God's will be done with us as it is in Heaven.
