Some Theistic Evolutionists claim that Creationists are putting God in a box, because we say God couldn't have used Evolution. Let's talk about a few biblical facts, and ask if this is true? God calls death the "last enemy" (1 Corinthians 15:26). God is love (1 John 4:8). God said part of His reason for sparing Nineveh from judgement was that there were many cattle there (Jonah 4:11). God tells us that a sparrow cannot fall to the ground without God's care (Matthew 10:29). God says the righteous man regards the life of his beast (Proverbs 12:10). With all of that in mine, even if we wipe out every clear teaching in the Bible that says God created the Earth in 6 days, how can we possibly claim God would use such a despicable process as Evolution to create the heavens and the earth? Theistic Evolutionists often ask if it's possible that God could create the heavens and the earth through Evolution? Honestly, I say no. See, I believe in a consistent God.
Let me give an analogy from my personal life. In the beginning of 2018, I lost my beloved dog, Tess. She had a very aggressive cancer, and was far beyond any kind of recovery. The only option was to "let her go". To say that it was beyond my ability to do so is not entirely true. I could have called the vet and asked for euthanasia for her. However, I could not do it because it is not consistent with my character. I could never have done it myself. My mother had to do it for me. In the same way, it cannot be said that using Evolution would be too big a task for God, but it is inconsistent with His character. Therefore, while He could use Evolution, it is nothing short of blasphemous to say He would use Evolution. Mankind may well be fascinated with violence, but when God finished His creation, He looked back on it and called it "very good". 3 billion years of carnage is not "very good" in the eyes of anyone but a deranged lunatic with sadistic tendencies. For God, death and suffering is a curse designed to redeem, to Himself, a fallen world that was once very good.
