A major flaw in the atheistic understanding of God is that they treat Him like a theory. Like the way humanity came up with God is the same way we came up with all our scientific mistakes in the past, and we cling to Him now in spite of evidence, not because of it. They then try to justify their belief in Evolution because, according to them, it's "the best explanation" for our origins.
But God is not like that. He isn't a guess, or a theory. No one observed some as yet undescribed phenomenon and theorised that God exists. No one performed a bunch of experiments and concluded God. Rather, God actually revealed Himself to mankind. This is not a matter of science, but of history, which is actually superior to science.
Think of it as being the difference between gravity and Isaac Newton. Our understanding of gravity increases with our scientific study. We still have gravity with us. But what can science tell us about Isaac Newton? Whether we're talking about how Newton discovered gravity, or basically any detail about Newton's life, the only way to know about Isaac Newton is the historical record.
In much the same way, science cannot tell us much about God. And actually, it can tell us nothing about origins either. It can tell us what we are now, it can't tell us much about history (and makes frequent errors when it tries). But God can. And that is why Creationism is a better explanation of origins than Evolution will ever be. We're not relying on science, because science is limited in its ability to assess historical claims. Neither are we relying on pseudoscience and making up stories, as the Evolutionists do. Rather, we are relying on the authoritative auto-biography of the Creator Himself.
Unlike science, history is relatively solid. Of course, lacking divine inspiration, it still isn't perfect, but we don't base our knowledge of history on scientific experimentation, but on reliable witness testimony. And where that testimony is available, we don't need any alternative theories. We don't need to speculate that Julius Caesar died of a heart attack, we know he was stabbed to death. We don't need to speculate that Henry VIII was a eunuch, we know he had 6 wives during his life. Woe betide the holocaust deniers, not because science is against them, but because the holocaust is a well known historical fact. Searching for alternative theories isn't being "open minded", it's not being "objective", it's being foolish.
How much more foolish is it to search for a theory of origins contrary to the infallible testimony of our Creator? God was there. God told us what we need to know. He didn't just tell us about how He created, but also what went wrong. Why things aren't as good as they were originally. And what that has to do with us.
See, just like our archetype (who was created from dirt, not descended from a monkey), we constantly rebel against God. Want proof? Look at this very discussion! We hate God so much, we'll rely on Evolution to deny Him. So what is God to do when His creations turn on Him? The sensible solution is to just destroy us. But that's option B, as far as He's concerned. Option A? Reconciliation.
As rebellious creations, we deserve punishment, but it doesn't have to be us who takes it. 2,000 years ago, God sent Jesus, His Son, to live as a man. He did not sin as we all do. Yet He died as a sinner, spent three days in a tomb, then got up. Because of this, God can forgive all sins, and we can be raised to life again to spend eternity with Him as His children.
