Animals. Creatures. Monsters. These are the words we use to describe people who do unspeakable things. Things we can barely utter. Genocide, rape, paedophilia, people do horrible things. People do horrible things.
And isn't that the problem? We describe them as monsters, but they are human. We describe them as creatures, but they are just like us. We call them animals, but here's the uncomfortable thing: We are just like them.
The Bible tells us plainly that we are all sinners. Every single one of us, from the kindest saint to the most vicious of Satan's slaves, sins. These monsters, as much as they horrify us, are mirrors.
See, everyone who sins has a justification for that sin. Look at the radical Left. They justify all sorts of abhorrent behaviour with all sorts of horrible reasoning. It's ok to hit him, he's a Nazi. It's ok to rob him, he's rich. It's ok to suppress his rights, I'm scared of him. But the scary part is the pendulum can swing. As the Left justifies their hateful actions, we can begin to hate them. Should we hate black people because of BLM? Can we vandalise property because of political differences? Can we kill abortionists? No, no, no! None of this is acceptable! The reason hatred is likened to murder in the Bible is because hatred is the first step to murder in life.
As a human being, you are the perfect sin machine. You can be driven by your emotions, even by your intellect, to commit some of the worst deeds imaginable, and all you need is one single thought: "I was justified". It's justified because they deserved it, it's justified because it's better than the alternative, it's justified because at least it's not as bad as this other sin this other person committed, it's justified because I like it. God wasn't lying when He said the thoughts of man are evil from our youth. We don't need to learn to sin, and we never really learn to stop. We lie, we steal, we kill, we hate. Do we repent? We must.
