Homology and the Politician's Syllogism

Although not as simple as "dinosaurs and birds both have two legs, therefore they're related", Evolutionists do obsess over homology. Similarities between extinct or extant animals, genetically and physically, are constantly used to "prove" an Evolutionary relationship. This reasoning is as fallacious as saying that dogs must be cats because cats have 4 legs.

It is interesting to note that this argument doesn't even hold water by Evolutionary reckoning. Many features would have had to have evolved independently a number of times to appear in as many organisms as they do today. Caffeine is an excellent example. It would need to have evolved at least three separate times. (Of course, they made up "convergent Evolution" to compensate for this otherwise fatal flaw in their story).

A more logical explanation for animals having similar designs is that they have a similar designer. Humans do the same thing. We put wheels on planes, trains and cars. We put seats in boats, busses and trucks. We make beds, cabinets and plant pots out of wood. We make screws of various sizes, with nails looking very similar to them. The device you are reading this on probably looks very similar to the device I am writing it on, whether you're using a laptop, desktop, tablet, or smartphone.

Thus, the claim that similarities prove Evolution is an assumption Evolutionists have unnecessarily imposed on biology. There is no reason to see two completely different kinds of animal and assume therefore they are related.

But there is reason to see basically any animal and assume it was designed. And it was, just as we were. Unfortunately, we rebelled against our Creator, and so He placed us on death row. But He didn't just leave us there with no hope of redemption. Instead, He sent His Son to die in our place and rise again. All we need is faith in the death and resurrection of the Lord Jesus Christ, and we can be reconciled to our Creator. Or we can believe in silly stories like Evolution, but really, that just doesn't seem like a hill worth dying on.
