A common argument in favor of intelligent design is to point to things that are obviously intelligently designed, such as walls, watches, mouse traps, cars, computers etc. and show that it is impossible for them to have come into existence without intelligent design, and yet the universe and everything within it shows all the same indicators of design. We even copy God's designs to develop our own, they're that good.
But taking Evolution to its logical extreme, there is actually no such thing as intelligent design. Even the greatest minds in all of history have been nothing more than chemical reactions. Thus, there is no distinction between an intelligently designed item and a naturally occurring one. Effectively, there is no such thing as intelligence.
But obviously, in reality, there is. We aren't automatons. We can even prove this by the fact that we do have automatic functions. Your heart beats on its own, you don't control it. Normally, you breathe on your own, you only breathe manually sometimes (probably including now). There are certain reflexes over which you have no control. But you do have control over other things. For example, blind chemistry is not forcing you to read this post. You are doing so of your own free will. You could decide to stop of your own free will. You could get up and go to design something. Intelligence clearly exists, otherwise you would be as capable of perceiving and contemplating this post as a camera, which, while capable of seeing and transmitting this information, is not capable of understanding it.
Thus, intelligent design is evidence of itself. You are quite clearly more than just blind chemistry, and are intuitively aware of this fact. This is because God, in whose image you have been designed, is not a physical being, but a spiritual one. You, like Him, have a spirit. A spirit capable of logic and reason. These reasoning abilities should lead you to the God who gave them to you.
But God is not just a logical conclusion concluded from evidence. He is also the only hope you have of eternal life. Life is a gift that comes from Him, but it is a gift He can take away if it is misused. And misuse it we do. Every single one of us, every day of our lives, do what is called "sin", the rebellion against our Creator and His laws. The punishment? Death. Not just physical death. The Bible describes a "second death" (Revelation 2:11; 20:6, 14; 21:8). The second death has no end. Eternal justice.
But God has given us a way out. Redemption is a possibility, because although all sin demands punishment, the sinner themselves need not take it. A willing and worthy substitute can take their place. And He did. 2,000 years ago, Jesus, the Son of God, entered the world through the virgin Mary, lived a sinless life as a human, and died a sinner's death. He took your punishment for your sin so that you can take His reward for His righteousness. All you are required to do is receive that gift in faith. Or you could go one thinking you're just a clump of cells, but that does no good in this life or the next.
