Perhaps you're not rich or famous. Perhaps you're "too" young, or you're "just an old fogey". Maybe men do not listen to you because you're just a silly girl, or perhaps women don't respect you because all men are pigs. Maybe you dropped out of high school, or couldn't afford to go to university. Here's the great thing about all that: You are the perfect vessel for God's glory.
God, being God, is capable of using anything for His own glory. Like a tramp beating an army with a plastic spoon is God's chosen messenger in a darkened world. We're talking about the God who took a teenage boy, betrayed and sold by his brothers, and used him to bring the entire nation of Israel into Egypt. We're talking about the God who used a coward to lead them out of Egypt. We're talking about the God who took a simple shepherd and made him into Israel's most famous king. Most importantly, we are talking about the God who sent Jesus.
Jesus, during His earthly life, was the lowest link on the social food chain. Born out of wedlock (legitimately, of course, but society didn't necessarily know that at the time) to a humble maidservant, who married a carpenter. He was born in a small town named Bethlehem, and was raised in a place of vice: Nazareth. He had no beauty, and was not educated. Though He could have chosen to come to earth as the richest of the rich, Jesus did not give Himself a single earthly advantage, and yet He overcame sin and death, and to this day, human beings worship Him.
You will not take away the sins of the world, and woe betide you if you seek to be worshiped, but in whatever capacity God desires, He can use you. He can use you to convert people. He can use you to edify people. He can use you to convict people. He can use you to correct people. He can even use you to judge people. You don't need money, God will provide. You don't need qualifications, God is your qualification. You don't need to be the big boss, God is a bigger boss. Whoever you are, great or small, you can glorify God.
But now let's flip it. Perhaps you are rich. Perhaps you are highly qualified. Perhaps you are the right age, stand in a place of authority, or have some trait human beings find attractive so that they trust you. Look at the end of 1 Corinthians 1:29. God uses the foolish things to shame the wise, the weak things to shame the strong and the despised to shame the loved because ultimately, the riches of this world are peanuts to Him. You're rich, God is richer. You're famous, but the stars bow to God. You're educated, yet God created the field in which you are an expert. That's not to downplay anything you have, of course. But it is to tell you to use it wisely. Be humble, be Godly, and be ready to be knocked down a peg or two should pride ever raise its ugly head in your life.
