Autism and apologetics are not the ideal mix. On the one hand, I am intelligent enough to present good, solid arguments for the faith. On the other hand, I lack the tolerance to respect bad logic.
Nevertheless, when sharing the faith, the Lord expects us all to behave a certain way. Too much readiness and not enough gentleness can lead to a greater interest in winning an argument than a soul, which itself leads to other sins. Similarly, too much gentleness can lead to weak arguments, or worse, Liberal theology.
The solution is to honour Jesus as Lord. When we know why we're doing what we do, it becomes a lot easier to do it. Our mission is to reach out to lost souls with the Gospel that saves them. With weak arguments, bad attitudes or sloppy theology, we cannot win souls for Christ. As the saying goes, "what you win them with is what you win them to". We can only afford to preach Christ, and in a manner that is worthy of Him. If we do this well, there will only be two outcomes: Greater shame to those who reject Him, or salvation to those who accept.
