We often hear it said "be in the world, but not of the world", but what does this actually mean? As Christians, we often make the mistake of being so outside the world, we may as well move to the moon. But this is not how it is supposed to be, for we are in the world for a reason: To make disciples.
God's love is not limited to your Church. God's love is not limited to your city. God's love is not even limited to your country. John 3:16 tells us that God so loved the world that He gave His only Son that everyone who believes in Him will not perish, but have eternal life. So, what does it mean to be in the world but not of the world? Simple: Don't act like the unsaved. But for goodness sake, do what you have to do to get them saved. If Jesus wanted us to be completely separate from the world, He would have taken us out of it the minute we converted.
Don't run. Don't hide. The world may be scary, but let's not forget who overcame it. They have nothing to take from you, for everything you lose for God, He will repay a hundredfold. But there is nothing more precious than a human soul, save the blood of Christ that was spilled to purchase it. Don't let those go to waste. Preach to the lost, not the choir!
