Evolutionists frequently cite the fact that Evolution is believed by the majority of scientists, and claim it is therefore indisputable. Ironically, this view is highly unscientific. In the past, majority opinion has been very very wrong. The geocentric model, for example, was also once scientific consensus. The argument from majority opinion has frequently hindered science, and continues to do so today.
For example, take the discovery of Synergistes Jonesii. Hawaiian goats are able to eat the toxic leucaena shrub, whereas it used to be the case that Australian livestock would get sick if they did. The Evolutionary explanation was that the Hawaiian goats had evolved the ability to eat it, but Doctor Raymond Jones cane up with an alternative theory: the Hawaiian goats had a special bacteria in their rumen. Naturally, the scientific consensus overruled Jones' theory, so he had to self fund his research. He was vindicated when he proved the existence of the theorised bacteria, which was named in his honour. This discovery has helped develop Australian agriculture.
The moral of this, and similar stories is that scientific consensus can be wrong, and when too much stock is placed into it, research is hindered. If more scientists would take Paul's advice to Timothy seriously, science could advance much quicker. It's time to point out that the Emporer is standing there as butt naked as the day he was born. Evolution may well be scientific consensus, but it is also the greatest example of scientific fiction the world has ever seen.
