Something fishy about Tiktaalik

A particular weakness in the Evolutionist religion is the conspicuous absence of transitional forms. Darwin himself predicted that such transitional forms would have to be innumerable. Yet, in his own words, "Geology assuredly does not reveal any such finely graduated organic chain; and this, perhaps, is the most obvious and gravest objection which can be urged against my theory. The explanation lies, as I believe, in the extreme imperfection of the geological record." (1).

The problem posed by the absence of transitional forms remains unanswered to this day. Even Darwin's futile excuse no longer holds up. The fossil record is by no means complete, of course, but it is certainly very healthy. We have fossil representatives of every living animal phylum and plant division. We have fossil representatives of 97% of all living orders of land vertebrates. Of living families of land vertebrates, we have 79% represented by what we currently have. That increases to 87% if you remove birds. (2).

As it stands, the fossil record we have fits quite nicely with the Creation Orchard, but not so well with the Evolutionary tree of life. That is why when such trees are displayed, they are noticeably incomplete, featuring ridiculously long lines, question marks, and ghostly figures, such as in this whale Evolution tree Richard Dawkins is pointing at. No fossil evidence links the hippo with the whales and dolphins on the other side. The black shadowy creature is entirely imaginary. Even some of the animals on that chart are about as real as the dinosaurs in Jurassic Park.

Now, to avoid being taken out of context, I am not saying that dinosaurs did not exist. What I am saying is that, for theatrical and entertainment purposes, the dinosaurs on screen are different from their real life counterparts. The same can be said for Evolutionist materials. The difference here is that rather than entertain, the purpose of Evolutionist materials is to deceive.

Much like in the whale Evolution chart, many fossils are given a makeover in order to make them appear transitional. Take, for example, the increasingly popular Tiktaalik Rosae. Tiktaalik Rosae is the name of a supposedly transitional form between fish and tetrapods.

As in this picture, it is often depicted crawling out of the water and on to land. The problem? In all likelihood, it couldn't do that. Its fin bones were not connected to the rest of the skeleton, making them useless for that purpose.

Some Evolutionists suggest that while this wouldn't have allowed it to walk on land, it could have propped Tiktaalik up as it "walked" along the bottom of the water. However, this is the same theory they had for the coelacanth, yet when they were finally discovered alive in 1938, this theory was thoroughly debunked by observation.

What's particularly interesting about Tiktaalik, however, is that even by Evolutionary reckoning, it couldn't possibly be the ancestor of tetrapods. Tiktaalik, supposedly, is around 383 million years old. However, some footprints were discovered in a quarry in Poland that are supposedly 397 million years old; far older than Tiktaalik. Because of this, while Tiktaalik is still presented as a transitional form at the popular level, Evolutionary experts reject it as such.

Of course, as a Christian, I utterly reject the Evolutionary dates of both Tiktaalik and the Polish tracks. According to the Bible, which is the first hand testimony of the Creator Himself, nothing in this universe is much older than 6,000 years. The word of God tells us very clearly "For in six days the Lord made the heavens and the earth, the sea, and all that is in them, and rested the seventh day." (Exodus 20:11). Chapter 1 of Genesis gives us a rather detailed description of this, too, specifically telling us that mankind, and land creatures, were created on the 6th day, whereas fish, like Tiktaalik, were created on the 5th. In other words, fish such as Tiktaalik preceded man by a grand total of one day, and were in no way ancestral to anything on land.

To really hammer this point home, God repeats the phrase "according to its kind" throughout Genesis 1-7, severing any and all possible links between living organisms. This does not rule out speciation, nor necessitate the fixity of species. The scriptures themselves strongly point to differentiation in related organisms. However, it does mean that only organisms of a particular kind may produce that kind, and organisms of a particular kind cannot produce other kinds.

This, of course, precludes the most ridiculous Evolutionary statements from being true. P Z Myers, for example, once claimed "Human beings are still fish". (3). But this is impossible! Human beings were never fish to begin with. The only living organism capable of producing a human being is another human being. Tiktaalik cannot do that. Tiktaalik was produced by other Tiktaaliks, and was, itself, only able to produce more Tiktaaliks. You don't even need scripture to tell you this, as it is a scientific fact human beings have observed for 6,000 years!

It takes a particular level of insanity to believe that Evolution is even remotely historical. Even if you want to play dumb and say we have absolutely no idea where we came from, that is still a significantly more sensible answer than Evolution. But the fact that we would rather believe we are literally fish out of water is, itself, further evidence of the Bible's truth, as it describes this mentality.

As Paul says in Romans 1:21-23, the human race "...although they knew God, they did not glorify Him as God, nor were thankful, but became futile in their thoughts, and their foolish hearts were darkened. Professing to be wise, they became fools, and changed the glory of the incorruptible God into an image made like corruptible man—and birds and four-footed animals and creeping things." As a species, we are wired to ask questions no other animal has the capacity to answer: "Where did we come from?", and "where are we going?" The answer to both questions are found in the Bible.

Where we came from is universal: We are all descended from a single human couple, created by God on the 6th day of history. But because of their disobedience, where we're going is to be determined. There are two possible answers. For those who continue to rebel against God, the answer is a fate worse than Evolution. As rebels against the highest of all authorities, we are on a path to the second death, commonly known as "Hell".

But this is now what God seeks to do to those whom He made in His image. Thus, He made a second path. Through the death and resurrection of His Son, Jesus, God made the way for us to be reconciled to Him forever, receiving eternal life in His Kingdom, which is so glorious, not even the Garden of Eden can lift a candle to it. To receive this gift, all one has to do is confess Jesus as Lord, and believe in your heart God raised Him from the dead. Logically, this will require you to stop imagining you're a fish, but I personally see this as a worthy trade.
