Background
Father of Light was initially written as a lullaby for a friend who was struggling to sleep due to nightmares. Sadly, this was a long time before AI was a thing, and I didn't know how to produce music on my own (which I still don't). Thus, all I had was the lyrics, and the voice clip I sent her of me singing it... on Snapchat. Since neither of us had the foresight to save the clip, and I lost the original document containing the lyrics, the original song perished.
More recently, two of my other friends expressed frustration because they were unable to sleep. I decided it would be a good idea to try to re-create the original lullaby. Sadly, I was only able to remember approximately half of the original song. Thus, the first two lines of verse 2, and the whole of verse 3, are new.
Because I was the original singer of the original song, I had initially intended the vocals to be male. However, I forgot to specify this when generating it with Suno. The result was the very soft, gentle female version. This was so beautiful to me, it actually made me feel slightly sleepy - not an easy feat given my chronic fatigue and related sleep issues. Thus, I decided this had to be the "official" version. Nevertheless, I did also produce a male version, which is available below. It is my hope that this song will be of use to someone.
