The only time it's "racist" to disagree with a white guy

As a Christian, I of course do not believe Islam. There is nothing especially strange about that. What is strange, however, is the large number of people who also do not believe Islam, yet defend it aggressively. It gets even stranger when those people are Liberals, who are opposed to Islam, defend it by calling anyone who vocally opposes it "racist".

Of course, illogical ideas require illogical defences, and one can think of nothing more illogical than people who champion gay rights, Feminism, racial equality, and "freedom from religion", defending a religion that persecutes gays, degrades women, bashes black people, and murders apostates.

The "race" card, and any other defence like it, is likewise insane. There are a large number of things wrong with it, starting with the simple fact that it's actually a combination of three very well established fallacies.

The first of these is the ad hominem fallacy. In English, this means "to the man", and it refers to the dismissal of one's arguments or beliefs based on one's personal qualities, real or imagined. An excellent example of an ad hominem is "..."O Allah's Messenger! What is deficient in our intelligence and religion?" He said, "Is not the evidence of two women equal to the witness of one man?" They replied in the affirmative. He said, "This is the deficiency in her intelligence...." (Sahih al-Bukhari, Vol. 1, Book 6, Hadith 301). Given that this particular example of an ad hominem, from the very mouth of the so-called Prophet Muhammad, offends Western sensibilities, it shouldn't be too hard to see its flaws. It is patently illogical to value a woman's testimony less than that of a man because women are deficient in intelligence. First, it's not even necessarily true; there is exactly zero evidence that women, on average, are less intelligent than men. Second, even if it was true, why would that make her testimony less valuable? She's either right or wrong.

In the same way, even if a person is a racist, that does not detract from their case. It may make them less popular, it doesn't make them less correct. Their criticisms of Islam stand or fall on the truth in each individual statement. "You're a racist" is a ridiculously weak response to, for example, the Islamic dilemma.

The second fallacy is the genetic fallacy. This is the fallacy in which a belief or argument is refuted based on its perceived origins or motivations. "You only believe this because X Y Z". Just as with the ad hominem, the genetic fallacy does not have to accurately assess the origins of one's beliefs or arguments, but it is irrelevant even if true. It may well be that a person is only opposed to Islam because they are racists, but that, once again, does not refute the arguments against Islam, nor does it defend Islam itself. Which, I'll remind you, not even half of Islam's defenders believe. Are the Liberals, who defend Islam, racists because they don't actually believe it?

The third fallacy it commits is arguably the worst: The straw man fallacy. See, the overwhelming majority of anti-Islam critics are very much not racists. Racism is against my religion, and so I am certainly not a racist. When I criticise Islam, I do so because it is a false religion, and one that is actually believed by a number of people with the same skin, hair, and even eye color as me. Thus, ironically, it is more racist to stereotype Islam.

But worse than that, because Islam is false, it is actually detrimental to my fellow men. As a Christian, I'm quite satisfied with my eternal fate. I will die, I will face God in judgement, and because I have believed in His Son, I will not be condemned (John 3:18). But what I am not satisfied with is the fact that other people will not share this great joy. As Jesus says, "“Enter by the narrow gate; for wide is the gate and broad is the way that leads to destruction, and there are many who go in by it. Because narrow is the gate and difficult is the way which leads to life, and there are few who find it." (Matthew 7:13-14).

A true racist would read that and be thrilled to be in a privileged minority. "Haha, God loves me, God hates you". But a Christian knows that God desires all men to be saved and come to the knowledge of the truth (1 Timothy 2:3-4), and doesn't want anyone to perish (2 Peter 3:9). God shows no partiality; He is the exact opposite of a racist. Thus, since the gift of salvation is offered to people of every tribe, tongue, and nation, it makes sense that we should therefore oppose all false religions that lead to destruction. How, then, can it possibly be racist to oppose Islam?

The reason for this unholy alliance between Liberals, who oppose Islamic principles, and Muslims, whose religion condemns Liberals to death, can be attributed to one simple truth: The same devil who fathered both ideologies is the father of lies. A murderer from the beginning, it pleases Satan when Muslims and Liberals go to Hell. Therefore, he will use all kinds of ridiculous claims to keep people enslaved to these falsehoods. But Jesus is the way, the truth, and the life. By faith in Him, every sin can be forgiven, and eternal life is given to all who believe in Him.
