One symptom of Covid-19 hysteria is the irrational fear and hatred of the unvaccinated. People who, for whatever reason, are hesitant to receive a Covid-19 vaccine are facing very heavy pressure to do so, from colleagues, from friends and family, from the media, and even from the government themselves. Jobs are being lost, households are being torn apart, lives are being ruined, and liberty is trapped in a chokehold, being held to ransom, all for the fear of this one disease.
Never in my adult life have I been anti-vax. I personally have rejected the vaccines, but I do not look down on those who have chosen differently. I am confident in my choice. But it seems many people are not so confident in theirs. The fear of Covid-19 is so extreme that many who have been fully vaccinated ("fully" being a very loose term, given that booster shots are already being discussed) are terrified of, and even vengeful against the unvaccinated. A whole new class system is being invented. If you bow down and worship almighty Pfizer, you have full rights in society. If, however, you cannot produce proof of vaccination, your rights are being slowly stripped away.
This is absurd. There are other deadly diseases in the world, and I have never once asked someone "hey, are you vaccinated against polio?" It just doesn't occur to me, because I am vaccinated against polio, and I have faith in that vaccine. Yet, we are now allegedly living in a "tyranny of the unvaccinated".
Here's the thing: If your vaccines work, you don't need to fear those who haven't got them. If we don't have Covid-19, we're no more of a threat to you than before the pandemic. Even if we do have Covid-19, if your vaccine is worth anything, it shouldn't matter if we have it, because we can't pass it to you. If you believe we can, then you also believe that if we get vaccinated, we can also still catch it.
Now, I'm not going to get into whether or not the vaccines work. My stance is, and always will be, do your own assessment, make your own choices. I've done my assessment, I've made my choice. You do not get to try and remake it for me. But I would like to steal the words of Courtney Kirchoff: "On average 7,700 Americans die every day. They just die. They may die from a common illness, of old age, in a car crash, cancer, or a freak gasoline fight accident. The moment ovum meets sperm, a clock is set. We do not know for how long it will tick. But death comes for us all, no matter how many precautions you take against known risks. People who wear seatbelts and drive cares (sic) with airbags can still die in car accidents. People who take the COVID-19 vaccine can still die from COVID-19." (1).
Kirchoff's conclusion is to simply live your lives, no longer treating Covid-19 as if it was the one and only cause of death left in the world. But I would like to add to her conclusion. See, those who have taken a vaccine out of fear of Covid-19 obviously recognise the value of their own lives. Lives which, as Kirchoff points out, will end. Disease, starvation, old age, criminal violence, even the vaccines themselves, are all ways we might leave this world. But we will leave it. After that? "...it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment:" - Hebrews 9:27
If you so value your life that you fear Covid-19, and even those who do not fear it as you do, you should so value your soul that you fear God. There are no vaccines in Hell, and there are no vaccines against going to Hell, but my friends, there is one solution that is 100% effective. Repent, confess Jesus as Lord, and believe God raised Him from the dead. Then, you will be saved. And you can be confident in this salvation. You do not need other people to also be saved. When you're saved, you're saved. Then, maybe, you can get others saved, too.
