WAKE UP!

A great evidence that unbelievers are spiritually asleep is that they often speak as if they are physically asleep. Their arguments are sloppy, their enthusiasm is low, their arrogance is high, you would think being wrong about God is as inconsequential as being wrong about what year England won the world cup.

The truth is, we are talking about eternity. None of us know when the reaper is going to come knocking. For most of us, the best we can hope for is about 70 - 80 years. If you live to be 100, you are extremely lucky. For some of us, maybe even you reading this article, or even me writing it, today could be the last day of our lives. How long has your life been? How long will it be? You will die, and you will be dead a lot longer than you lived. Does this not show you how important this issue is?

Let's put it this way: You would probably never debate a firefighter, a doctor, or a police officer. If a firefighter tells you to evacuate a building, you look for the nearest exit. If your doctor tells you something is unhealthy, you do whatever he tells you to extend your life. If a police officer comes to arrest you, don't bother fighting, because even if you win, you'll only be in more trouble when the next ones show up. But God, who is far more significant than any of these authority figures (who, ironically, have the job of delaying your meeting of Him), is laughed off? Wake up! Hell is hotter than any fire, more painful than any sickness, and longer lasting than any prison sentence. Sin is not worth it. Repent, confess Jesus as Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead. Otherwise, you will not receive an inheritance in His Kingdom, but the wages you earned from Him: The Second Death.
