What's your backup plan?

Evolution is just one more religion designed to oppose God and set its adherents free to make their own rules. Some religions, like Islam, last for centuries, but others die out relatively fast. As a religion which claims science as its foundation, Evolution is a very weak religion. As science progresses, the evidence against Evolution is growing, and what Evolutionists once used to claim was evidence is now only considered evidence by those at the lowest end of the educational spectrum. That being said, it is unlikely, though not impossible, that Evolution will last for another 150 years.

That leaves Theistic Evolutionists with a bigger problem than they have now. When Evolution dies, people will remember that time when the Church compromised their book in order to accept that old scientific blunder. It will be a lot harder to make people take them seriously.

Theistic Evolution will go down as the biggest mistake in Church history. Far worse than reading the flat earth and heliocentric models into verses that don’t even comment on astronomy, Theistic Evolution flat out rejects what the Bible actually does say. Skeptics will cry, as many do even now, “you couldn’t even stick to your guns against that nonsense! How can you expect us to believe you now?”

The best defence against this scenario is to stick to our guns against Evolution while it prevails. Sure, Evolutionists will laugh, just as Muslims laugh when we talk about the Trinity. But the Bible tells us that those who are perishing will find the message of the cross foolish anyway (1 Corinthians 1:18), so what do we hope to gain with this foolish compromise? In the end, it is always better to stand against a lie and be laughed at than to tell the lie and be popular.
