When Evolutionists deny Evolution

One thing I find especially amusing about Evolution is how few people actually believe it. Whether we're talking morally, spiritually, or scientifically, it's very rare to meet a person who actually believes this stuff is true.

One example is the fact that humans treat each other as if we are somehow beyond nature. What I mean by this is that we hold each other to a certain standard of what is "too much" interference with nature. Selective breeding, for example, is considered "interfering" with natural selection. Construction is considered destructive to nature. Conservation is seen as a great virtue. Our hunting methods are distinguished from the hunting methods of other predators (not to mention more regulated). And domestic animals, once they have been selectively bred to a point, are no longer considered "wild". Even while recording nature documentaries, interference is considered "unnatural". If a team discovers an injured animal, they don't help it, because they're only there to observe nature, not interfere.

How is it we can distinguish mankind so much from nature if we, ourselves, are just another part of it? Is selective breeding not identical to natural selection? Surely it's just natural selection operating in a relatively new and unique way. Human breeders are just a new selective pressure. If a beaver dam or a termite mound are not considered unnatural, why should a human city be? And why should we conserve anything? Destruction is inevitable anyway, and the environment that now exists is really sitting on top of that which has already been destroyed. Lions don't have hunting regulations, so why shouldn't humans hunt for sport? And what's so cowardly about using firearms? It's not like the aforementioned lions are especially known for giving their prey a sporting chance. A domestic animal should be considered wild. It's still in its natural habitat, it's just slightly different from that of its ancestors.

As for the documentaries, how is it interfering with nature to help an injured animal? Think about it: Could anything else be considered interfering with nature? If another animal helped it, even another species, would that be considered unnatural? Or if the opposite happened, say a predator killed it instead of the injury, would the predator be the one interfering with nature? If a nature documentary team, as animals, helped an injured animal they were observing, that would just be nature doing what nature does.

If Evolution was true. But it isn't. See, human beings are a part of this creation, but we are a unique part of it. We were given dominion over the Earth. This gives us something the other animals don't have: Responsibility. This is why we can be said to be interfering with nature. Because, quite simply, we are. And Evolutionists know it. They know it because the image of God comes with certain instincts, including limited understanding that God exists, and has certain expectations of us.

Of course, that does cause us to take up our natural role as rulers of the world. We exercise our dominion all the time. But it also causes us to understand good and evil. And the fact that all of us tend towards the latter. Even lacking God's specific laws, we all do things we're not proud of. And as we mature, we see that even some things we were very proud of at the time were very much not good things. And this is naturally discomforting.

Even more discomforting is the fact that these evil deeds, called sins, must be accounted for. We must be judged. And God is holy. He is the one who will judge us, and will do so perfectly. Yet, for us, this is not ideal. The punishment is death.

But thankfully, God is not as distant as a cameraman. He is not afraid to interfere with our nature, and so He devised a plan. Rather than condemning us to His eternal wrath, God sent Jesus to live as a man, and die a sinner's death. Every sin you have ever committed, Jesus paid for with His own blood. Now, you have a choice to make. He can return your debt to you, or you can repent, confess Him as Lord, and believe He rose from the dead. Doing this guarantees eternal life.
