Which way does Old Earth Creationism compromise?

Consider this: When a person defends Creationism, it is almost guaranteed they are a Christian or a Jew. It is a necessary conclusion that they are at least some kind of Theist. By contrast, when someone defends Evolution, it is a logical assumption that they are an atheist. Indeed, the term "Theistic Evolution" exists, but the term "Evolution" is a sufficient description of atheistic Evolution. Atheistic Evolution does not need the qualifier "atheistic" Evolution, because Evolution is an inherently atheistic concept.

I can simply describe myself as a Creationist, people will immediately assume I am a Christian. I don't need to clarify it. I don't even need to say I am a "young earth" Creationist (especially considering I strongly disagree with the term "young" earth), I don't need to say I am a Christian Creationist, the only time I will add any clarification at all is when I know compromising Creationists are present, so I will distinguish myself as a "Biblical Creationist", because I am basing my view entirely on the Bible without any reference to external sources, such as apocryphal books, Christian writers, or secular opinion (although all three of these can be used as supporting evidence).

There is a reason for this phenomenon. Christianity and Evolution are mutually exclusive, mainly because Evolution was invented, as Richard Dawkins put it, to make it "possible to be an intellectually fulfilled atheist". Old Earth Creationists and Theistic Evolutionists need to clarify their views because they are compromising, whereas atheistic Evolutionists and Biblical Creationists do not need to because they are not.

So the question arises as to which way are they compromising? Are they Christians who happen to believe the atheistic Creation myth, or are they Evolutionists who happen to believe a little bit of the Bible? Although the header image strongly supports the latter, the answer is that it depends on the individual. In the end, it is a compromise, but the direction of the compromise varies according to the integrity of the individual. Some people trust God's word more than man's, some people trust man's word more than God's. The question is which do you trust more?

The Bible says it is impossible to serve two masters. You will inevitably end up hating one and loving the other. As time goes by, a compromiser will eventually show their true colors. Sadly, many of them bash the Bible, proving that they really are just Evolutionists with a bit of God mixed in. But sometimes they are brave enough to not even defend the Old Earth views, gradually having their views reformed as they study the Scriptures.

It is the official position of this ministry that it is immoral to assume a Creation compromiser is not saved. However, a compromise on the issue of Creation (or indeed any issue) indicates one of two things: A poor Christian walk, or a non-Christian walk. In both cases, Creation compromisers must repent, and non-compromisers should lovingly encourage those compromisers to repent and trust the word of God, supplemented with prayer.
