Would You Rather (WYR) is an interesting game that even went through a period of internet fame. In it, two seemingly equal alternatives are presented, and the player is forced to choose. There is usually some kind of drawback. Few WYR scenarios are something nice or simple, like "would you rather drink a cup of coffee or a cup of tea?" It's usually more like "Would you rather be beautiful and stupid, or intelligent and ugly?"
Sometimes, it's hard to choose. One internet version of the game would reveal how many people agreed with you, often with a rough 50/50 - 60/40 split. But every now and then you'll get a serious no-brainer, with one option receiving more than 80% of the votes.
One of those no-brainer scenarios should be "Would you rather be poor now and rich in Heaven, or rich now and poor in Hell?" Sadly, for some people, even some Christians, it's not as simple as it sounds. The former option should receive 100% of the votes. What's a little poverty on earth when you have the entire Kingdom of Heaven forever? Riches on the earth are rags compared to that, and yet even if it means an eternity of Hell, many people would choose the rags.
Anyone who's ever had so much as a headache should be able to tell you that this very realistic WYR scenario has only one correct answer. Any sane person would choose Heaven. Now, that's not to say a Christian can't be wealthy, or even enjoy this wealth, but it does mean we should see losing them as an occupational hazard. If you start getting wrapped up in earthly riches, you're basically the thorny ground in the parable of the sower (Matthew 13:22).
