The diagram above has three stages. In the first stage, there are 3 giraffes. In the second and third, there are 2 giraffes. Notice that in none of the stages are there 0 giraffes. Does this diagram, therefore, tell us the origin of the giraffe species? Obviously not.
The diagram is perfectly compatible with the Christian model. The Bible says that animals were created to reproduce according to their kinds, and to fill the Earth. Natural selection makes sense because it keeps the species stable and enables them to adapt to new or changing environments (especially the radically different environment after the flood). If natural selection didn’t exist, that would be a bad design.
Ultimately, if Evolution and natural selection were synonymous, Christians and Evolutionists would have no dispute. But of course, Evolution is not about survival of the fittest, but arrival of the fittest. Thus, proving natural selection is not proving Evolution.
Now here's the hard part. This is a photo of a test given to young children. There are many similar ones in existence. You, yourself, probably took one just like it. This diagram, therefore, not only shows us natural selection, but also explains why Evolution is to prevalent in our culture. Natural selection, unlike Evolution, is real. So, if you can convince young, impressionable minds that it is synonymous with Evolution, you will raise whole generations who daren't even question it. If you're an Evolutionist, you've fallen for a con.
