Taking back the rainbow

Even as an ex-gay, I really don't understand how the rainbow came to be an emblem of the LGBT community. I fail to see how it represents it in any way. Far from being a celebration of sexual immorality, the rainbow actually represents the judgment of sin, and the very specific way in which God promised never to deal with it again.

It's encouraging to see many Christians, including Answers in Genesis, attempting to "take back" the rainbow. The idea to light up the Ark Encounter with rainbow lights in celebration of God is far greater than Obama's idea to light up the White House to celebrate the Supreme Court's overreach in "legalising" gay "marriage". This, I feel, should be the approach all Christians take. Rather than shying away from LGBT issues, we should use it as a witnessing opportunity, hopefully bringing many sinners to repentance. Let us take back the rainbow for the God who sent it, and let us use it to take back lost souls from Hell.
