Thorns: Before man, or because man?

Evolution: thorns before man.

Bible: thorns because man.

Genesis 3:17-19 reads "And unto Adam he said, Because thou hast hearkened unto the voice of thy wife, and hast eaten of the tree, of which I commanded thee, saying, Thou shalt not eat of it: cursed is the ground for thy sake; in sorrow shalt thou eat of it all the days of thy life; Thorns also and thistles shall it bring forth to thee; and thou shalt eat the herb of the field; In the sweat of thy face shalt thou eat bread, till thou return unto the ground; for out of it wast thou taken: for dust thou art, and unto dust shalt thou return."

What we see from the above is that thorns specifically came about as the result of the fall. We could even briefly mention, though it would be off topic, that thorns are one aspect of the fall that Jesus took directly on the cross. Setting this aside, it is indisputable that thorns are a result of the cursed earth. The Bible tells us that thorns did not exist until Adam sinned.

Evolution, by contrast, teaches the opposite. We have thorns in the fossil record that are, supposedly, millions of years old. We now have a dilemma. Thorns cannot have existed both before the fall and as a result of it. Therefore, there are only two consistent options. The first is that thorns are millions of years old, and therefore the Bible is false. The second is that the Bible is true, and therefore thorns are a maximum of 6,000 years old. As a Christian, I obviously take the latter option. I call upon my brethren to do the same.
